in the super bowl. we have extensive coverage tonight of the super bowl. jim kozemore in our newsroom. we begin with arturo santiago with the family angle. >> reporter: you could say john harbaugh has had bragging rights since they beat the 49ers on thanksgiving day in 2011. now that very same sibling rivalry will be played out on an even bigger stage, the super bowl. >> i feel like there's no losing in that family. and i'm sure the brothers feel the same way. but one of them's going to win. >> reporter: tina knows a little something about sibling rivalry, the mother of twin boys who are now in college who have been competing against each other from day one. >> they don't look to other people as competition. they look at each other and they say, okay, can i beat you? and then once i beat you, i can do whatever to get the next group of guys. bring them in. >> reporter: psychologist dr. marc steinberg says it's important for parents to treat their children according to individual personalities, skills, and accomplishments. and to not foster a sense of entitlement when it comes to rivalries. >> pa

. this is unchartered territory for a lot of those players. today the team hit the practice field. jim kozemore has the story including the rare move colin kaepernick made today. hey, jim. >> all right, jess. 11 days and counting until the super bowl and we cannot get enough information for what they are doing to prepare for the baltimore ravens. business as usual. there are more cameras and reporters than there were players. they will not let the distraction get in the way of what they have set out to accomplish this year. >> approaching this weekend, playing the game sunday. normally we keep it as normal as usual. as far as preparation, getting your body ready to play. they just come to the super bowl. >> game planning, i know it will be tough to keep the nerves down next week as we get down. hopefully we can keep those together. >> go out there and play. >> at the end of the day, the pass is a pass. for us to win the game, we'll have to go out there and compete, go out there and do our job, go out there and make plays. >> any distraction would be a hung huge disappointment. we're going down ther

the 49ers and the super bowl. let's check in with jim. >> speaking of dreams come true should have been the lead-in, speaking of kaepernick. oh, my goodness, ladies. let's get right to it. there's only one place to start the sports segment, and that's with the 49ers' quest as they prepare for the super bowl run. now the national media running head-first into this one as expected. how about this, with a headline that reads there will be blood, "sports illustrated." this week's edition depicts the story line everyone is talking about, the battle of the brothers harbaugh as they lead their respective teams into new orleans. the two faced each other back on thanksgiving night, 2011. jim was asked if he can take anything away from that loss in baltimore. >> getting to know the ravens and who they are now. i think that will be the big thing. we've already seen early in this season, and we played them later in the season. the dynamic on the team changes, personnel, scheme changes pretty drastically. so as we get through this, we'll have a better idea. but that would be my guess, that this is c
